Our Response is Lord, Hear our Prayer

For the Church: that we may obey the teachings of Christ by loving the Lord with all our hearts, all our souls, all our minds, and all of our strength, we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear our Prayer

For all those holding and seeking elective office: that their convictions and actions will be inspired by a true need to shepherd the marginalized of society while also striving to end violence and govern through compromise, we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear our Prayer

For a greater trust in the Lord during times of difficulty: that we will be consoled by God, our deliverer, and sustained by his strength and righteousness, we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear our Prayer

For all people suffering from physical and mental disease: that God will bring healing and renewal to them in body, mind, and spirit, we pray:
Lord, hear our prayer

For the members and friends of St. Paul’s: that we may love our neighbors as ourselves by reaching out to those who are sick, those who are imprisoned, those who are lonely, those who are impoverished, and those who are searching for God, we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear our Prayer

For the silent prayers of our hearts and for any special prayers you wish to mention now...
(Pause for others to pray and for the priest to conclude with prayer)

Petitions for 10/29/06

Here are this week's petitions! I know that yesterday was World Missions Sunday, and alternate petitions were used. If I knew about days such as these (it's difficult to keep track of all of them), I would be happy to incorporate them into my intercessions. Or, if alternate intercessions were used, I could take a break for a week.
