Petitions for 1/8/05

The Epiphany of the Lord
Cycle ?: January 8, 2005
General Intercessions

Our response is Lord, Hear Our Prayer.

For the Church: that, like the Lord, we will rescue the poor when they cry out;
and the afflicted when no one helps them.
That we will have pity for the lowly and the poor, we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear Our Prayer.

For salvation: that all people may rejoice in the light of God, which outshines all of the thick clouds of darkness, we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear Our Prayer.

For a rekindling of a childlike spirit of wonder and awe like that of the magi; and for openness to life and a renewed excitement about life, we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear Our Prayer.

For those in the hospital, the homeless, and those who are in prison: that the coming of Christ may bring hope, healing and new opportunities for them, we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear Our Prayer.

For the members and friends of St. Paul's: that we may conduct ourselves with the wisdom of the spirit and the love of Christ in their hearts, we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear Our Prayer.
