Petitions for 12/24/06
MS Word Document
Fourth Sunday of Advent
Cycle C: December 24, 2006
General Intercessions
Our Response is Come Emmanuel, Hear our Prayer
For the Church: that we may be touched by joy each day and draw strength from God’s Word as challenges enter our lives, we pray to the Lord:
Come Emmanuel, Hear our Prayer
For all in public service: that they may fulfill their obligations fully and continually work for the common good, we pray to the Lord:
Come Emmanuel, Hear our Prayer
For all who are ill: that God’s healing love will touch their bodies and spirits and bring them comfort and wholeness, we pray to the Lord:
Come Emmanuel, Hear our Prayer
For conversion of mind and heart: that we may be freed of greed, selfishness, and abuse of power so that we may be open to God’s gifts of life, salvation, and wholeness, we pray to the Lord:
Come Emmanuel, Hear our Prayer
For the members and friends of St. Paul’s: that we may strive to fulfill our duties to others and strive to use our gifts to ease the suffering and promote the wellbeing of all our brothers and sisters, we pray to the Lord:
Come Emmanuel, Hear our Prayer
For the silent prayers of our hearts and for any special prayers you wish to mention now…
(Pause for others to pray and for the priest to conclude with prayer)
