Petitions for 12/2/07
MS Word Document
First Sunday of Advent
Cycle A: December 2, 2007
General Intercessions
Our Response is Lord, Hear Our Prayer
For the Church: that we may make a conscious effort every day to put on the mind and heart of Christ, and be a source of light and hope for those who are searching for meaning in their lives, we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear Our Prayer
For the gift of peace: that God will teach all people how to turn the resources for war into resources for healing and human development, we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear Our Prayer
For children throughout this holiday season: that their eyes may see all of the blessings in their lives, and that they will not get lost in the material goods they wish to receive, we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear Our Prayer
For all who are ill, especially those who are awaiting surgery: that God’s healing love will sustain and comfort them, we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear Our Prayer
For the members and friends of St. Paul’s: that as we prepare for the end of the semester as well as the holidays, we will recognize the gift of each moment, and be attentive to God’s presence in our lives, we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear Our Prayer
For the silent prayers of our hearts and for any special prayers you wish to mention now…
(Pause for others to pray and for the priest to conclude with prayer)
