Here is the MS Word file. I hope you all had a happy and safe Thanksgiving!

Third Sunday of Advent
Cycle A: December 11, 2005
General Intercessions

Our Response is Come, Lord Jesus

For the Church:
That as God’s anointed ones, we will strive to bring glad tidings to the poor,
To heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to captives,
And to release those who are prisoners, we pray to the Lord:
Come, Lord Jesus

For all political leaders: that God inspire them to work toward a greater quality of life for those whose lives are filled with anguish due to poverty, violence, and homelessness, we pray to the Lord:
Come, Lord Jesus

For patience during this Advent season:
That as we wait for the coming of the Lord,
we will rejoice in his promise of mercy and give thanks in every circumstance, we pray to the Lord:
Come, Lord Jesus

For grace: that we will have the strength to rejoice in the Lord always,
and to pray without ceasing, we pray to the Lord:
Come, Lord Jesus

For the members and friends of St. Paul’s:
That we might seek the peace of God, and allow it to make us holy, we pray to the Lord:
Come, Lord Jesus

For the silent prayers of our hearts and for any special prayers you wish to mention now…
(Pause for others to pray and for the priest to conclude with prayer)

Petitions for 11/27/05

MS Word file containing this week's petitions.

Also, I just wanted to mention to James/whomever that the request for the insertion of a specific prayer in the 11/20 petitions was made after I wrote them, and presumably after they were passed on to whoever reads them at that mass?  So yeah...I think it was out of my hands at that point.  Sorry!

Petitions for 11/20/05

Word Document version
There are only four this week, but that's because the first one is pretty long.
Additionally, maybe for this Sunday, the 13th, we could include a prayer for an end to violence in France, and a move towards peaceful solutions to inequality?
