Petitions for 12/30/07
So, I felt pretty terrible when I went to church on Christmas and realized that I had totally forgotten about the petitions, :( I'm really sorry. Anyway, here are this week's petitions. I'm having issues getting the Word document uploaded to My Webspace on My Wisc because it's not letting me find the file. I'll keep trying, but for now, here is the text:
Feast of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph
Cycle A: December 30, 2007
General Intercessions
Our Response is Lord, Hear Our Prayer
For the Church: that we, like Mary and Joseph, may face the future with faith and trust in God, no matter what trials or uncertainties stand before us, we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear Our Prayer
For the people entangled in violent political conflicts in Darfur, Congo, Iraq, Afghanistan, Israel, and the Palestinian territories: that the child Jesus will bring relief to those who are suffering, and bestow wisdom and encourage upon political leaders to seek and find humane, just, and lasting solutions, we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear Our Prayer
For those who live in the darkness of poverty, injustice, and war: that the light of Christ will shine forth, and bring them consolation, we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear Our Prayer
For all who have no families, and for those who are alienated from their families: that they will experience love and acceptance through this Christian community, we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear Our Prayer
For the members and friends of St. Paul’s: that the Spirit of God will show us how to love one another more deeply, support one another more fully, and forgive one another generously, we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear Our Prayer
For the silent prayers of our hearts and for any special prayers you wish to mention now…
(Pause for others to pray and for the priest to conclude with prayer)
