Petitions for 12/16/07
MS Word Document
Third Sunday of Advent
Cycle A: December 16, 2007
General Intercessions
Our Response is Lord, Hear Our Prayer
For the Church: that we may await the fulfillment of God’s promises to us, and not give up as delays occur, we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear Our Prayer
For all who struggle with doubt: that their eyes and hearts may be opened to the wonderful things that God does every day, both within us and around us, we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear Our Prayer
For all those who live in fear of violence and abuse: that they will take comfort in God’s words, and live in strength instead of fear, with the knowledge that He is coming, bearing salvation and justice; we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear Our Prayer
For students, teachers, and anyone else who will be traveling for the holidays: that God will protect them from harm, and open the pathways before them; we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear Our Prayer
For the members and friends of St. Paul’s: that God will lead us to new insights as we strive to discern what we are looking for in religion, relationships, and in life, we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear Our Prayer
For the silent prayers of our hearts and for any special prayers you wish to mention now…
(Pause for others to pray and for the priest to conclude with prayer)
