Petitions for 12/25/05 (CHRISTMAS!)
For whatever reason, I still can’t get into MyWebspace. Unfortunately, I don’t have time to deal with it right now, so I hope that you’ll forgive me for not having a link up to a Word document. Hopefully, I can rectify this situation over Winter Break. Merry Christmas!
Nativity of the Lord (Christmas)
Cycle B: December 25, 2005
General Intercessions
Our Response is Come, Lord Jesus
For the Church: that we will strive always to bring glad tidings to those in doubt; that we will sing of the Lord until all the ends of the earth behold the salvation of our God, we pray to the Lord:
Come, Lord Jesus
For all those experiencing darkness of any kind:
For the homeless, the hungry, those in prison, and those suffering from violence:
That they know that the life of Jesus is the light that shines in the darkness, and that darkness has not – nor will it ever – overcome it, we pray to the Lord:
Come, Lord Jesus
For all who are grieving, who have been abused, or who struggle with addictions: that the courage of Mary may bring hope and promise for tomorrow, we pray to the Lord:
Come, Lord Jesus
For salvation: that as one, the world will shout for joy and break into songs of praise of our God’s truth and grace, we pray to the Lord:
Come, Lord Jesus
For the members and friends of St. Paul’s: that we, like Mary, may ponder God’s invitations to us and give our full yes to all that God asks of us so that we may bring forth God’s saving presence in our world, we pray to the Lord:
Come, Lord Jesus
For the silent prayers of our hearts and for any special prayers you wish to mention now…
(Pause for others to pray and for the priest to conclude with prayer)
