Petitions for 11/12/06
Hmmm, I tried posting into the blog directly from Microsoft Word, and I don't know why it made the font so large. The MS Word Document should still look all right, though.
MS Word Document
Thirty-Second Sunday in Ordinary Time
Cycle B: November 12, 2006
General Intercessions
Our Response is Lord, Hear our Prayer
For the Church: that we may strive to help all those who are oppressed, as Jesus did: that we may give food to those who are hungry, donate to those who are impoverished, and comfort those who are imprisoned, we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear our Prayer
For all those newly elected to public office: that the Holy Spirit will lead them to govern with compassion and sound judgment, we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear our Prayer
For all who are discerning important life choices: that God will guide them to great happiness and the service of others, we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear our Prayer
For peace: that weapons may be turned into instruments of peace, and hearts may be converted to the path of reconciliation, we pray to the Lord:
Lord, hear our prayer
For the members and friends of St. Paul’s: that we may follow the widow’s example in today’s gospel, and contribute all that we can, however little the amount, to help the Church and those in need, we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear our Prayer
For the silent prayers of our hearts and for any special prayers you wish to mention now…
(Pause for others to pray and for the priest to conclude with prayer)
