Petitions for 9/10/06
MS Word Document for this week
Twenty-Third Sunday in Ordinary Time
Cycle B: September 10, 2006
General Intercessions
Our Response is Lord, Hear our Prayer
For the Church: that the Spirit will transform our perspective of life through a greater dedication to justice for the marginalized, we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear our Prayer
For all world leaders: that they recognize the dignity of all people regardless of status, wealth, or social position and seek to meet the common human needs of each person, we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear our Prayer
For all those who have been victims of discrimination or prejudice: that God will heal their pain and renew their spirits, we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear our Prayer
For all people who have experienced violence, terrorism, or war: that God will help them break the cycle of violence and respond out of their pain with life-giving and Christ-like choices, we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear our Prayer
For those experiencing fears of weakness or of the unknown: that they will take solace in the nearness of God, who always sustains us, we pray the Lord:
Lord, Hear our Prayer
For the members and friends of St. Paul’s: that we may strive always to not make distinctions between people who are all heirs of God’s kingdom, whether we are separated by physical limitations, poverty, or fear: we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear our Prayer
For the silent prayers of our hearts and for any special prayers you wish to mention now...
(Pause for others to pray and for the priest to conclude with prayer)
