Petitions for 10/16/05

At some point, I'm going to try and see if I can upload word documents to the Internet. If I can do that, then I'll post the link here - I think it might be easier for you guys for formatting purposes. But at the moment, there are midterms and papers to contend with, :/

I was going to insert a prayer for the meeting that's going to happen next week Tuesday between Ariel Sharon and Abbas, and pray that it results in more peaceful actions. But then I realized that when these petitions are in mass, that will have already happened! James, would you be able to stick one in for this Sunday's mass?

That said, I hope these are okay. I found this week's readings more to be difficult to work with. Please comment and let me know if the blog is working out!

Twenty-Ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Cycle A(?): October 16, 2005
General Intercessions

Our Response is Lord, Hear our Prayer

For the Church: that we will give the Lord the praise that is due to Him, and spread His glory among all nations, we pray:
Lord, Hear our Prayer

For all government leaders: that they may follow God’s example and govern with equity, we pray:
Lord, Hear our Prayer

For those whose lives are torn apart by violence, whether it be domestic abuse or suicide bombings: that they will come to know the Lord, and know also that He arms them with courage and love, we pray:
Lord, Hear our Prayer

For any who have grown weary, whether it be from exams, work, or financial constraints: that they will find endurance and hope in Jesus, we pray:
Lord, Hear our Prayer

For the members and friends of St. Paul’s: that we may recognize the image of God in ourselves, and in doing so pay back what belongs to Him by dedicating our lives to Him, we pray:
Lord, Hear our Prayer

For the silent prayers of our hearts and for any special prayers you wish to mention now…
(Pause for others to pray and for the priest to conclude with prayer)
