Petitions for 2/18/07
MS Word Document
Seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time
Cycle C: February 18, 2007
General Intercessions
Our Response is Lord, Hear our Prayer
For the Church: that the truth of Christ’s resurrection will inspire us to be merciful to all those we meet: especially those who are ungrateful or wicked, we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear our Prayer
For all world leaders, and those in government: that the political arena will not be used as a place to settle grudges or exact revenge, but instead as a way to see to the needs of those suffering from disease, hunger, and violence, we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear our Prayer
For all who feel despair, especially those who have lost love ones, lost their health, or lost employment: that they may feel the presence of God’s love and allow it to give them strength, we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear our Prayer
For all who are persecuted or are suffering for their faith: that they may have strength to bear their burdens and become fuller witnesses to the new life offered by God, we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear our Prayer
For the members and friends of St. Paul’s: that we may interact with others without judging them, and also do our best to love those who hate us without expecting anything in return, we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear our Prayer
For the silent prayers of our hearts and for any special prayers you wish to mention now…
(Pause for others to pray and for the priest to conclude with prayer)
