Petitions for 8/19/07
MS Word Document
Twentieth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Cycle C: August 19, 2007
General Intercessions
Our Response is Lord, Hear Our Prayer
For the Church: that our faith may set the earth on fire, so that it is blazing when Christ returns, we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear Our Prayer
For, Peace: that the leaders of nations may surrender their power and privilege, and become servants of those people most in need, we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear Our Prayer
For the better use of time: that we may faithfully and diligently use the time that God has given us so that we may be faithful, and bear fruit, we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear Our Prayer
For all who feel weary in their struggle against sin: that they may persevere by keeping their eyes fixed on Jesus who died for us, and strive always to rid themselves of sin in every form, we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear Our Prayer
For the members and friends of St. Paul’s: that we may live fearlessly, trusting God’s love and compassion as we celebrate the gift of life each day, we pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear Our Prayer
For the silent prayers of our hearts and for any special prayers you wish to mention now…
(Pause for others to pray and for the priest to conclude with prayer)
